GTM template is the preferred way to deploy the RCE carousel.

It is possible to select development or production mode in template configuration. This selection affects which API is called. Both return the same data, but we want shops to use the development API until they have implemented the carousel correctly and cannot negatively affect the production API and other customers.

Clicking on a product will lead you to its landing page (unlike in manual implementation previews).
